Would you like to use your technical leadership to ensure smooth passenger flows at airports worldwide? We are looking for an experienced and driven Engineering Manager to elevate our multidisciplinary engineering team to the next level.
About the role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead our Mechanical and Electrical Engineering team, consisting of approximately 14 FTE, including engineers ranging from junior to senior level and a technical documentation specialist. You will be responsible for technical quality, efficient execution of engineering activities, and team development. In addition, you will play a key role in both client projects and internal R&D initiatives focused on product innovation.
You will be part of the Technology Department and report directly to the Director of Technology. You will work closely with colleagues from software development and product management throughout the entire product lifecycle — from concept to realization.
Your responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team
- Foster collaboration between mechanical and electrical disciplines
- Create a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Recruit and support the career development of technical talent
- Member of the Technology Management Team
Project & Resource Planning
- Optimize the allocation of people and resources
- Ensure technical quality and timely delivery of engineering outputs
- Collaborate closely with product owners, solution engineers, and other stakeholders
Technical Responsibility
- Final responsibility for technical designs, documentation, and compliance
- Ensure adherence to standards (CE, UL, ISO) and operational requirements
- Promote standardization, modularity, and scalability
Process & Quality Improvement
- Improve engineering processes and quality assurance
- Integrate tools and systems for design, collaboration, and documentation
- Strengthen collaboration within and beyond the department
What you bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a similar field
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in a technical environment, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience in infrastructure, industrial, or transport systems (experience in aviation is a plus)
Technical & Leadership Skills
- Experience with CAD, EPLAN, PDM systems, and technical documentation processes
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong analytical, structured, and results-oriented mindset
- Decisive and experienced in change management
Communication Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken)
- Experience managing stakeholders in a complex technical environment
