Do you enjoy implementing structural improvements to airport security assets like Bagdrop systems and Security Lanes based on hands-on service and operational experience? Scarabee is a leading player in the airport industry. We develop and deliver innovative solutions from arrival to boarding, with a strong focus on passenger experience and safety. Our products and installations consist of a combination of mechanical systems, electrical installations and software and run in mission-critical environments. As a Maintenance Engineer, you are the link between service, engineering and product management and you ensure that technical improvements are structurally implemented and secured.

Your responsibilities

  • Work closely with 3rd Line Support to analyse recurring technical issues and implement design improvements.
  • Identify and initiate improvements in the mechanical, electrical and software fields, aimed at:
    • Increased reliability
    • maintainability
    • extending the lifespan of products and systems
  • Align proposed changes with Engineering and Product Management to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting Service Sales in defining and selling upgrade and modification packages by providing technical substantiation and feasibility analyses.
  • Preparation and structuring of maintenance documentation, including maintenance concepts, maintenance intervals and work instructions.
  • Ensuring that maintenance documentation is technically correct, practically applicable and up-to-date, in close cooperation with 3rd Line Support.
  • Developing and providing technical training for service engineers on maintenance, upgrades and product improvements.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvements of products and processes in collaboration with Engineering and Service.

What you bring

  • A completed college or university education in a technical field (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial automation or similar).
  • Demonstrable experience with complex technical systems in which mechanical, electrical and software components come together.
  • Experience in a role within service, engineering, maintenance or product improvement, where you analyze and solve structural technical problems.
  • The ability to translate technical analyses into sustainable, practically applicable improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to switch between different disciplines and levels.
  • A proactive, analytical and quality-oriented work attitude.
  • Good command of the English language; Dutch is an advantage.

Experience and knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, reliability and product lifecycle.
  • Experience with technical documentation and transferring knowledge to service and maintenance teams.
  • Insight into the commercial impact of technical choices (e.g. maintenance costs, uptime and customer value).
  • Experience working in an operational, customer-oriented and technically complex environment.
