Schiphol Temporary Departure Hall

Schipol Temporary Departure Hall
In response to a growing number of passengers travelling to Schengen destinations, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has opened a new temporary departure hall as of 4th April 2017. Built to serve approximately two million passengers each year, the hall offers several airlines space for check-in and security. The Scarabee Aviation Group realised a state-of-the-art security filter, comprising of 6 security lanes. Within a little less than six months, the new departure hall was designed, built and deployed. It is planned that the Temporary Departure Hall will remain in service until the end of 2019 when, once the period of use comes to an end, it can simply be dismantled and re-used. The security filters can also be used at other locations later.

‘ ‘I am enormously proud of the fact that we have completed this departure hall in a little more than six months ‘ ‘
- Nijhuis, CEO Royal Schiphol Group
