New Security Lanes at Munich Airport

New Security Lanes at Munich Airport

A new era dawns for passengers and security staff at Munich Airport. Responding to the growing number of passengers and the anticipated new EU security standards, the Bavarian authorities, Luftamt Südbayern, have initiated a transformation of their security checkpoints.

Scarabee Aviation Group is proud to have been selected by the Bavarian authorities, Luftamt Süd Bayern, as the systems integrator for a dual Smart Security Lane, which will be integrated with latest and most innovative state-of-the-art screening technology.

The blueprint for the new security concept will be piloted in Terminal 2 and will enhance the threat detection capabilities by providing automatic explosive detection capabilities (EDS) for thorough analysis for prohibited items. By using the latest technology not only the passenger experience will be improved but also throughput will be accelerated significantly.
Part of the new concept is the automated boarding pass check using e-gates and improved way finding at the entrance of the checkpoint, supporting a smooth flow for the passengers.

Besides state-of-the-art technology the checkpoint shows a human centric design which is further enhanced by the architecture of T2 and which is targeted at improving security, simplifying processes, enabling a smooth and pleasant passenger journey and a good environment for the staff to deliver a valued service to the passengers.
